Work

Ever since, art has always been simply a form of self-expression for me – it still is today. It has also been therapeutic and a way to make sense of life. But as years passed by and I got older and hopefully wiser, making art has taken a deeper and meaningful purpose: to give life, to glorify God with this gift that came from Him, and to use it to serve others.

Let’s team up, and create something good!

Below are notes on art commissions and design work.

Art Commission Information:

Status: OPEN* (As of Feb. 2, 2017)

*The status changes to OPEN/CLOSED depending on my availability and time to finish pending work.

Slots: 0/3

Payment: Philippine Peso or USD either through BPI bank deposit or Paypal

Requirements:

For those interested to have an artwork made, please take note of the commission details:

1. You may provide photo references and a story about the subject. (Ex. My friend loves to climb mountains. For her, what pulls her in more is the view while making the journey instead of what was waiting at the top. She hikes mountains with her best friend and her pet dog too.) I like to incorporate stories in the illustrations I make; it would be great if you can provide details like that!

A highly important note: I will not draw anything inappropriate. I have the right to refuse a client’s commission request.

2. Size and orientation (landscape or portrait) of the illustration will depend on you.

3. You may choose a certain style as to how you want your illustration to look. You may refer to this page of my past works to see which style you would want. For traditionally done illustrations, my media of choice are watercolor, pencil, and colored pencils. Please note that these are the styles and medium I best work with. I will inform you early on if ever I won’t be able to make something with the style or medium that you prefer.

4. You may email me at mariacarlizza@gmail.com with the subject Art Commission. Please indicate the due date and how the finished piece will be delivered. If the piece is done traditionally, you have the option to have it framed/shipped, but there will be additional fees for the framing/shipping.

5. I will respond as soon as possible (in 1-2 days) stating my acceptance of the commission as well as the invoice. An initial down payment of 50% is required before I start conceptualizing and working on the artwork. After this, I will draw 2-3 rough sketches, and send it to you for your review, revisions (if there will be any), and approval. Once approved, I will work on the actual piece.

6. During production, I will email you with work-in-progress shots before the submission.

7. Once finished, I will send you a watermarked copy of the artwork for your review and approval. Please note that I will only accommodate two rounds of revisions. There will be additional charge should we go beyond the two rounds.

8. Once you approve of the artwork, you may send in the last 50% payment, then I will send the final full-resolution copy of the artwork. You have the option for it to be shipped. Please note that a shipping fee is required as well.
