Ang Mamumundok at ang Mahomanay

This was my piece for our organization Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan (Ang InK) and the University of the Philippines – Los Baños exhibit Philippine Tales Retold, held at UP Los Baños, Laguna, Philippines. It is a framed digital print with a nylon string at the back for hanging. The art print itself is 17×11 inches.

This artwork shows the Mahomanay, a beneficent creature who guards forest animals from danger. In this modern retelling, she befriends a kind mountaineer with his intrepid dog and joins them to climb a mountain. An eagle told me that they wanted to catch the sunset – of course, the Mahomanay knows the best view point in the mountain! 🙂
