Section 1 – WEBSITE
By default, WordPress does not collect any personal data about visitors, and only collects data shown on the User Profile screen from registered users.
However, because my online shop Hourly Bird is now here, you as a customer need to provide personal data such as name, email address, contact details, and shipping address; transactional data such as purchase information; and technical data such as information about cookies.
The personal information you provide when buying a product from my shop is needed, because it will be used to process your order, support your experience throughout the website, and to contact you for any concerns regarding your order. This also serves as protection to screen orders that may be fraudulent.
How I protect your data
My website is hosted at WordPress, and it is made secure through HTTPS and SSL.
Who we share your data with
This website shares data with plug-ins I use: Akismet Anti-Spam, AMP, and JetPack – all of which are automatically managed for me.
This website also shares data with WooCommerce, a plug-in I use for my online shop, and WooCommerce PayPal Gateway and WooCommerce Services. Your data is shared with these to successfully process your orders made in my online shop.
For cases that I may be required to comply with the law and certain regulations, I may disclose your personal information.
How long we retain your data
My website retains personal data collected and processed for my online shop’s records and security. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses. This also helps for when you will have future orders in my online shop. However, if you would like for my website to delete them, you may contact me at email@example.com.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
In my Contact Page, the information you are required to provide is your name, email address, and the message itself. The data is only used for customer service and inquiries and not for marketing purposes.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided. You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
