It serves as the home of my portfolio, blog, and online shop Hourly Bird ( It is powered by WordPress, one of the most powerful blogging and website content management system (CMS) there is. Personal Data

By default, WordPress does not collect any personal data about visitors, and only collects data shown on the User Profile screen from registered users.

However, because my online shop Hourly Bird is now here, you as a customer need to provide personal data such as name, email address, contact details, and shipping address; transactional data such as purchase information; and technical data such as information about cookies.

The personal information you provide when buying a product from my shop is needed, because it will be used to process your order, support your experience throughout the website, and to contact you for any concerns regarding your order. This also serves as protection to screen orders that may be fraudulent.

How I protect your data

My website is hosted at WordPress, and it is made secure through HTTPS and SSL.

Who we share your data with

This website shares data with plug-ins I use: Akismet Anti-Spam, AMP, and JetPack – all of which are automatically managed for me.

This website also shares data with WooCommerce, a plug-in I use for my online shop, and WooCommerce PayPal Gateway and WooCommerce Services. Your data is shared with these to successfully process your orders made in my online shop.

For cases that I may be required to comply with the law and certain regulations, I may disclose your personal information.

How long we retain your data

My website retains personal data collected and processed for my online shop’s records and security. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses. If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.


When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Contact Forms

In my Contact Page, the information you are required to provide is your name, email address, and the message itself. The data is only used for customer service and inquiries and not for marketing purposes.


If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided. Section 2 – WooCommerce

What we collect and store

While you visit my online shop Hourly Bird (, my website will track the following:

  • Products you’ve viewed: I’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed
  • Location, IP address and browser type: I’ll use this for purposes like estimating shipping
  • Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and send you the order!

When you purchase from Hourly Bird, I’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:

  • Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints
  • Process payments and prevent fraud
  • Improve my store offerings

As the site owner, I am the only one who has access to my website and online shop. I can access information you provide to me like:

What we share with others

I will also share your data such as name, shipping address, and contact number to the shipping courier to send your order. Please be informed that the information you provide must be true, clear, and accurate.

Information of payments (those needed to successfully process an order) made through PayPal will be transferred to a respective third party. Data collected may include:
