When I watched Ratatouille and a few Hayao Miyazaki movies (that at some point show the characters cooking/preparing/having dishes), I can’t help but get curious about what makes the food look edible and delicious to the point that they would make me hungry.
Could it be the color? The smoke rising from the pots and pans? The rendering? The details like the light on the yolk or the oil on the bacon? Or the growling stomach? I had to find out by making my own food studies.
